FATE

The project “From Adventure to Employment (FATE)” supports European priorities on inclusion, youth employability, and quality youth work by empowering NEET young people through adventure and experiential education. The project uses outdoor and adventure-based learning, individual coaching, and peer support to strengthen young people’s self-development, mental well-being, and readiness for education or employment. At the same time, it builds the competences of youth workers by integrating innovative adventure education methods into everyday youth work practice. FATE actively involves marginalized young people as participants and co-creators, promotes inclusion in natural spaces, and fosters active citizenship across Europe.

Objectives of the project:

  • Enhancing self-development, self-esteem, and well-being of NEET young people through adventure education.

  • Increasing young people’s readiness for further studies or employment.

  • Developing and strengthening youth workers’ competences in adventure and experiential learning methods.

  • Promoting inclusion, active citizenship, and equal access to nature-based learning opportunities.

  • Strengthening international cooperation and knowledge exchange in youth work.

Results:

  • Training and capacity-building programme for youth workers on adventure and outdoor education.

  • European Guide for youth workers on adventure education methods and practices.

  • Evaluation report on the impact of adventure education on self-development and employability.

  • Self-development tools, including a coaching card game for work with young people.

  • International and local adventure education activities implemented with NEET youth.
