These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the GivEUvoice “European Youth Network” (EYN) and related services (collectively, the "Service") operated by the GivEUvoice team as part of a European Commission-funded youth engagement project.

By accessing or using our Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use our Service.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By creating an account, registering for events, or using any part of the European Youth Network, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy.

If you are under 18 years of age, you must have consent from a parent or legal guardian to use this Service.

2. Eligibility and Account Registration

Age Requirements:

  • Users must be between 13-35 years of age to participate in European Youth Network activities
  • Users under 18 require parental or guardian consent

Account Creation:

  • You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials
  • You agree to notify us immediately of any unauthorized access to your account
  • You may not create multiple accounts or impersonate others

Our Content: All content on the European Youth Network, including text, graphics, logos, images, videos, and software, is the property of the GivEuvoice Team, the European Commission, or our content partners and is protected by international copyright laws.

User-Generated Content: When you submit content (comments, photos, videos, posts) to our Service, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, reproduce, modify, and display that content for project purposes, including promotional materials and reporting to the European Commission.

You retain ownership of your content but warrant that you have the right to share it and that it does not violate any third-party rights.

6. Events and Activities

Registration: Registration for GivEUvoice/European Youth Network (which one is better? Do people understand the connection?) events and activities is subject to availability. We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule events with reasonable notice.

Participation Requirements: Participants must adhere to event-specific rules and guidelines provided during registration or at the event.

Photography and Media: By participating in EYN events, you consent to being photographed or recorded for project documentation and promotional purposes, unless you explicitly opt out.

Our Service may contain links to third-party websites, social media platforms, or services. We are not responsible for the content, privacy practices, or terms of service of these external sites.

Your interaction with third-party services is governed by their respective terms and privacy policies.

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, the GivEUvoice Team, the European Commission, and GivEUvoice project partners shall not be liable for:

10. Indemnification

  • Your violation of any third-party rights
  • Content you submit or share through the Service

11. Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, for:

  • Project completion or discontinuation

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination will remain in effect.

15. Entire Agreement

  • European Commission (for grant audit/reporting as per EU funding requirements)

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with third-party marketers.

Some technical service providers may process data outside the EEA. In such cases, we ensure appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses, adequacy decisions).

7. Retention Periods

  • Account data: As long as your account is active and for up to 3 years after last use or project closure, unless required longer by EU audit/funding rules.
  • Event registration, consent forms: 5 years after participation or project end (audit/compliance)
  • Photos, videos: Until consent is withdrawn, or up to 5 years after the event/project
  • Contact/communication data: 2 years after last correspondence
  • Cookies/analytics data: Depending on type, 1–14 months; see Cookies and Analytics (or do we need a Cookie Policy?)

Upon expiry, data will be deleted or anonymized unless longer retention is required by law.

8. Your Rights (GDPR, Chapter 3)

  • Themes? Is it possible to have automated themes on the website? For each season for example?
  • Automatic birthday message?
  • Is it possible to have the sign-up for events also behind the account-wall? That people need an account to sign up to join the events but people who do not have an account can still see them? Just the place is hidden and the sign up?
