This week Alicante becomes a meeting point for young people from across Europe as the GivEUvoice Youth Exchangebrings together participants from seven different countries. From 10 to 16 March, young people are sharing experiences, ideas and perspectives on youth participation, active citizenship and the role of young voices in shaping more inclusive communities.
Throughout the week, participants take part in a dynamic programme of non-formal learning activities, workshops and group discussions designed to explore how young people can become more involved in decision-making processes in their communities. Through interactive sessions, creative exercises and collaborative work, the exchange encourages participants to reflect on the meaning of participation and how youth voices can influence social change.
The programme also includes outdoor and experiential activities in Alicante, allowing participants to connect with the city while strengthening teamwork and intercultural dialogue. One of the highlights of the week is a Photo Safari across Alicante, where groups explore key places in the city and capture images representing youth energy, diversity, cooperation and active citizenship.
Beyond the activities, the exchange creates a valuable space for intercultural learning and friendship, where young people discover different realities, share their cultures and build connections that go beyond borders.
The youth exchange is part of the GivEUvoice project, which aims to empower young people, especially those from rural areas, to express their ideas, participate actively in society and contribute to shaping the future of Europe.

During the youth exchange in Alicante, participants took part in a Photo Safari, exploring the city while completing creative photo challenges in teams. From the Castle of Santa Bárbara to the beach, marina and Mushroom Street, they captured images representing youth energy, diversity, cooperation and active citizenship. The activity ended with each group creating a collage of their best photos, sharing their visual story of youth voices in Europe.
